Agar busana anda yang terbuat dari kain wastra nasional dapat tahan lama dan tetap terjaga keindahannya, ada beberapa cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk merawatnya.
Pertama, busana yg terbuat dari wastra nasional (batik, tenun, dll) sebaiknya dicuci tangan, bukan dengan mesin.
Gunakan sabun yang ringan (mild detergen) ketika mencuci busana dari wastra nasional. Sabun mandi tidak boleh digunakan dalam mencuci wastra, sebab mengandung lemak, dapat membuat pudar. Buat batik dapat menggunakan lerak, pilihan lain adalah bisa gunakan detergen cair yang biasa dipakai buat mencuci sutra.
Ketika mencuci wastra tradisional, cukup dikucek sebentar lalu bilas, JANGAN disikat karena akan merusak serat kain.

Indonesia is a very beautiful and rich country. Indonesia have a gazilion tradition, food, dance and also textiles, including saroong. For me, nowadays, batik is already bored me. Everyone wear batik in every where and every occasion. Me, who loves brigth and cheerful color, somehow fallin love with saroong (or sarung), especially Bugis or Samarinda saroong. I didn’t say that I hate batik, but we [Indonesian] people have to open our eyes in any option, we have so many kind of traditional textile like ulos from North Sumatra, we also have Songket from West Sumatra and Palembang, we have batik almost in avery city in Java, we have a tenun ikat from NTT, Bali an other city, and Saroong from Kalimantan. We have to what we exactly have, so other country can’t take it easily from us.
With so many kind of patterns, colors and texture, saroong can be used for an old fashion style or in a fancy way. Who said that Indonesian don’t have a good tartan? Saroong it is…
