Disney Princesses landed at Harrods’ dresses by Famous Fashion Designers

On 1 November 2012, HARRODS‘ Christmas windows will be taken over by a designer Disney Princess display this year. Some of the biggest names in fashion have created their imaginings of the iconic fairy tale dresses.

Ariel The Little Mermaid, Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Jasmine from Aladdin, Mulan, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Snow White, and Tiana from the Princess and the Frogwill all get a high-fashion overhaul from the designers – alongside a specially-built 7,000-square-foot area on the store’s fourth floor, which will house a Disney princess pop-up boutique. But the Harrods Christmas windows opened on Thursday November 1, 2012.

“Each year we strive to deliver a Christmas theme that will inspire and enthrall our customers,” Mark Briggs, Harrods’ store image director, said. “Collaborating with Disney this year is an exciting prospect for the store, as it allows us to combine luxury and fashion with fantasy and nostalgia to execute a show-stopping Christmas.”

“We are thrilled to be working with Harrods and some of the world’s most famous designers to sprinkle some magic on Christmas in London this year,” Anna Hill, Disney’s chief marketing officer, added. “The enchanting stories of our Disney Princesses are timeless and continue to inspire girls and women across generations.”

Cinderella by Versace

Harrods – “‘You shall go to the ball’, in a stunning contemporary interpretation complete with golden layers, a tiara, a bold statement-necklace and of course, glass slippers – emblazoned with the iconic Versace medusa motif.”

 

Aurora from Sleeping Beauty by Elie Saab

Harrods – “Encapsulating the natural grace and innocence of Aurora, this beautiful gown in pale pink is embellished with scattered exquisite beading.”

Ariel from The Little Mermaid by Marchesa

Harrods – “A chic and elegant deep blue silk evening gown has been beautifully crafted to combine luxurious draped fabrics, which perfectly embody modern feminine style – capturing Ariel’s adventurous under-the-sea spirit.”

Jasmine from Aladdin by Escada

Harrods – “An exotic fuchsia silk chiffon gown encompasses the fiery beauty of Jasmine, complete with an extravagant golden flower belt.”

Mulan by Missoni

Harrods – “A land of silk and jade has inspired this oriental kimono-style dazzling creation, that features bold turquoise shades and red detailing.”

Belle from Beauty and The Beast by Valentino

Harrods – “A fantasy-like dress in silk chiffon with a sheer hooded cape and layers of exquisite pleats, is accessorised with bespoke signature studded flats and a silver flower bag.”
 

Pocahontas by Roberto Cavalli

Harrods – “Featuring soft, golden and natural earthy colours, this gown incorporates prints evocative of dream catchers with pearl detailing. The lightness of a feather and the wings of a butterfly, it is perfect for a princess in love with freedom.”

Rapunzel by Jenny Packham

Harrods – “A magical dress in pale grey adorned with incredible beading that should never be locked away.”

Snow White by Oscar de la Renta

Harrods – “‘Someday your prince will come…’ This silk gown is divine with intricate embroidery across the bodice and a floor-sweeping cape in signature red.”

Tiana from The Princess and the Frog by Ralph & Russo

Harrods – “A dream come true, this mint evening gown with a sweetheart neckline and mesh overlay, features scattered crystals that cascade into a layered tulle skirt.”
