Mungkin ada yang bertanya-tanya, Dita posting apa sih itu dari kemarin, pakai bahasa Inggris pula. Jadi seperti yang sudah di tulis di postingan yang ini, selama 4 hari 3 malam, saya berkesempatan menyaksikan Asia Fashion Exchange di Singapore.

Apa itu Asia Fashion Exchange?

The Asia Fashion Exchange (AFX) is a joint private and public sector initiative involving the Textile and Fashion Federation of Singapore (TaFf) *Eh, di Indonesia ada Federasi Tekstil dan Fashion nya juga gak sih?* and Mercury Marketing and Communications; together with three Singapore government agencies, International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and SPRING Singapore (SPRING).

AFX aims to position Singapore as Asia’s leading fashion hub, and comprises four key pillar events. These are Blueprint, a trade show that positions itself as the fashion trade gateway to Asia which creates business opportunities between international buyers and promising design players; Asia Fashion Summit, a premier business conference that generates thought leadership content and insights on fashion topics for industry professionals; Audi Fashion Festival Singapore, a showcase of world-class collections by top and emerging designers and labels, both international and Asian; and Star Creation, a regional fashion design competition to spot budding talent.



The Audi Fashion Festival 2012 (AFF) will feature top international and Asian designers showcasing their runway collections at the Tent@Orchard, Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza. From the world’s most revered designers and international top models to red carpet fashion galas and glamorous after-parties, the Audi Fashion Festival will be highlighted as the biggest fashion event of the year, with the support of the Singapore Tourism Board. In the previous years, AFF showcased collections from world-known brands such as Christian Lacroix, Vivienne Westwood, Gareth Pugh, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Missoni, Ungaro, Erdem, DSquared, Roberto Cavalli as well as local fashion heroes like Raoul and Alldressedup. Audi Fashion Festival Singapore made its mark as Singapore’s biggest fashion event of 2011, with more than 12,000 guests attending as compared to 9,000 in 2010.

Opening the festival on 16 May is avant-garde French fashion house Mugler. Guest will be treated to a presentation of Mugler’s Autum/Winter 2012 collection in the presence of Creative Director, Nicola Formichetti. Closing the festivalon 20 May is RM by Roland Mouret, with Mouret himself in attendance. American fashion designer Zac Posen will be presenting his Pre-Fall 2012 and Fall/Winter 2012 collection at the festival on 19 May. This will be Posen’s first ever show in Asia. Themed “Lighting the Future”, this year’s event will feature 5 show days and an exciting line-up with a mix of emerging and estabished top-class names from the international world of fashion. Other highlights include Singapore brands RAOUL and alldressedup.

This year also sees the introduction of a revolutionary digital concept, Future Fashion Now (FFN). From 17-19 May 2012, consumers who can’t come to Audi Fashion Festival, can log into Future Fashion Now website to watch the live streaming of Pre-Spring (Cruise) Collection 2013 shows of 13 FFN Designers, and at the same time pre-order and secure their favorite pieces from those collection.

What is FFN? Future Fashion Now is a new fashion initiative, a digital trunk show offering costumers more choice, an opportunity to directly support new designers, edit their own style and stay ahead of the fashion pack each season. Experience the catwalk shows — unedited and uncensored — as the designers intended.

BLUEPRINT TRADESHOW (17 – 18 May, Open to Trade & Media): BLUEPRINT is the only Asian fashion tradeshow featuring Pre-Spring 2013 womenswear, menswear and accessories collections of Asian and International emerging designers.The Brandery Asia, an extension of The Brandery fashion tradeshow from Barcelona will also be co-located with BLUEPRINT 2012, presenting Spring/Summer 2013 collections from established contemporary urban, street and casual fashion brands and participating in BLUEPRINT Emporium.

More than 100 International and Asian emerging designer labels will be launching their Pre-Spring 2013 collections to invited trade and media guests at BLUEPRINT, Asia’s only international fashion trade platform from 17-18 May.

BLUEPRINT EMPORIUM (19 – 20 May; Open to Public): A two-day offshoot of BLUEPRINT taking place over the weekend, when the trade venue becomes Asia’s defining shopping destination. Discover and shop limited edition, sample and sales merchandise from 150 emerging designer labels and established and up-and-coming brands from around the world, most never before commercially available in Singapore. Get a chance to meet the designers and mingle with local and international fashion personalities. With music programming and fringe activities including style workshops and beauty makeovers, BLUEPRINT EMPORIUM brings your shopping experience to a whole new level.

The Asia Fashion Summit, organized by Textile & Fashion Federation (Singapore), is a premier business conference that creates knowledge, provides insights and shares expert views on fashion topics that are important to fashion industry professionals in Asia. Themed Engaging the Asian Fashion Consumer, the 2012 summit will feature more than 30 speakers and panellists. This year’s line-up includes Ravi Thakran, Group President of LVMH South Asia, South East Asia and West Asia; Trend Analyst Julie Harris of WGSN; Sarah Curran, CEO of; Nobuyuki-Ota, Chairman of Japanese depatment store Matsuya, and Cheu, founder of online intelligence company Brandtology.  The summit will be held at Singapore’s Raffles City Convention Centre from 15th to 17th May.

Returning for its third year, Asia Fashion Summit (AFS) will focus on how winning brands can leverage lifestyle retailing as well as use technology and digital media to engage consumers for the long term. Last year, AFS documented the Rise of Asian Consumerism and examined ways to gain the attention of the increasingly important market. This year’s summit extends on the theme and spotlights what businesses need to do to continually attract, keep and grow consumer wallet share. With presentations, interactive panel discussions and small group workshops, the three?day event will help retailers, fashion buyers, fashion entrepreneurs and designers attract and engage the increasingly important Asian fashion consumer.

Audi Star Creation is an Asia-wide fashion design competition that promotes and develops emerging Asian fashion talents. It is spearheaded by the Textile and Fashion Federation Singapore (TaFf), titled-sponsored by Audi Singapore, and supported by FJ Benjamin. It was first held in 2010, as part of the inaugural Asia Fashion Exchange.

This year saw a record number of 255 entries from 13 countries. The final face-off takes place at the Asia Fashion Exchange’s Tent@Orchard on May 14. Three of the 12 winners stand to walk away with a $10,000 cash prize from Audi Singapore, a one-year internship with leading fashion retailer FJ Benjamin and the chance to develop a capsule collection that will be launched at Audi Star Creation 2013. Of the three, the one whose collection best embodies Audi’s design spirit of innovation, technology and progression will receive the Audi Young Designer Award (AYDA) – an additional $10,000 cash prize. This is the third time the AYDA is being presented.

The winners of last year’s Audi Star Creation – Tsai Ming Hung (Singapore), 28, Chen Zhi Gang (China), 28, and Tiang Boon Tieon (Malaysia), 27 – will debut the capsule collections developed during their one year internships with FJ Benjamin as part of the Audi Fashion Festival 2012 at the Tent@Orchard, Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza on 18 May. Their capsule collections will also be showcased to international and local buyers at the Asia Fashion Exchange’s tradeshow platform, BLUEPRINT, on May 17 and 18.
